Former Proteas coach, Gary Kirsten has tipped Australia to challenge for next year’s Cricket World Cup in England and Wales, despite being rocked by their recent ball tampering scandal.

The men from Down Under will, for the best part of the year, be without two of their best players in former captain, Steve Smith and his deputy, David Warner, who are serving one-year bans for their part in attempting to alter the condition of the ball, during the third Test against South Africa in Newlands in March.

Cricket News: Dale Steyn set to join English county Hampshire

The Proteas ace will join the county in June as he looks to return to full fitness after a series of injuries.

Veteran Proteas fast bowler, Dale Steyn will join English county side, Hampshire for the 2018 domestic season.

The 34-year old has been on the sidelines for three months after suffering a heel injury during the opening Test of the home series against India at Newlands in January.

He will join up with the county in June, a month before South Africa is set to tour Sri Lanka for two Test matches, five One Day Internationals and one T20 international.

Steyn will also fill in for Proteas teammate, Hashim Amla, who joins the county for the first three months of the season.
