Rugby News: Joel Stransky tips the Boks to triumph over England

Springbok legend, Joel Stransky believes South Africa have it in them to to defeat England, when the two sides clash over three Tests in June this year.

The series against the Poms begins a week after the Boks take on Wales in a historic once-off Test against Wales in Washington DC, in what will be new coach, Rassie Erasmus’ first game in charge after a horrid 2017 under Allister Coetzee.

Speaking to the Mirror, the World Cup-winning former flyhalf said home ground advantage, as well as their opponents’ injury woes will tip the scales in the hosts’ favour.

Major Bok shock: Rare outgrowth sidelines Serfontein

Cape Town – Centre Jan Serfontein could miss the Springboks’ upcoming Tests due to a rare injury.

Afrikaans website Netwerk24 reported on Sunday that a rare outgrowth on Serfontein’s thigh could keep him out for an extended period.

Serfontein, who boasts 35 Test caps, currently plies his trade at French club Montpellier and the injury saw him miss their Top 14 clash against Pau this past weekend.

The midfielder is currently receiving medical advice on whether he needs to undergo surgery or radiation to have the outgrowth removed.
