Protea Captain Faf du Plessis says Warner behaved worse than Rabada

South African Test captain Faf du Plessis has staunchly defended pace sensation Kagiso Rabada and said David Warner acted far worse.

The Test series between South Africa and Australia increasingly seems like it might be remembered more for kerfuffles than cricket.

First, there was the near bust up between David Warner and Quinton de Kock, with one calling the other sook, one allegedly making “vile and disgusting” comments about the other’s wife and then fans took to wearing Sonny Billy Williams masks because Mrs. Warner once upon a time got to know the rugby player a bit intimately.

Oh. And then the band was told to stop playing.

Then Kagiso Rabada got banned. For two Tests.

Yeah, it’s a bit much. Especially considering that this timid int

Rabada suspended for two Tests – here’s what CSA can do

Kagiso Rabada has been suspended for South Africa’s next two Test matches for being a bit naughty and a bit angry. But Cricket South Africa do have a few options…

The quick was found guilty of a Level 2 offence of the ICC Code of Conduct. That relates to “inappropriate and deliberate physical contact with a player”.

Rabada has also been fined 50% of his match fee and handed three demerit points after a disciplinary hearing following his denial of the charge.

Because he has racked up eight demerit points in a 24-month period, he is automatically suspended for two Tests.

Ind vs SA: After AB de Villiers, Faf du Plessis ruled out of ODI, T20I series

South African skipper Faf du Plessis and batsman AB de Villers have been ruled out of ODI and T20Is series against India due to a finger injury.

Faf’s absence would be a massive blow for the hosts as their start batter AB de Villiers was already ruled out from first three ODI matches due to injury.

Faf du Plessis had injured his finger during the opening ODI match between India and South Africa in which he scored his ninth hundred to take the Proteas to 269/8. Following the mediocre target, visitors chased the total with ease and won the match by six wickets.

“I just got a blow (to my finger), so hopefully it will be fine for the next game,” Faf du Plessis had said in the post-match conference.
